Michael Power is the P D Leake Professor of Accounting at London School of Economics and Political Science where he also is the Research Theme Director for the Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation (CARR).
Michael Power is the author of The Audit Society: Rituals of Verification (Oxford University Press, 1997; second paperback edition 1999), translated into Italian, Japanese and French and most recently Organized Uncertainty: Designing a World of Risk Management (Oxford University Press, 2007). He has also written a number of influential articles on risk, control, governance and auditing in journal such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Management Studies, European Accounting Review and International Journal of Auditing.
